Where can I park on race day?
Free parking is available at the State of Texas parking garages located off Trinity Street between 12th St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. There is also ample on-street parking in the vicinity of the capitol complex. Meter parking downtown on Saturday is FREE.
Please note that if you are driving to the start of the race on race morning from any areas west of the Capitol, 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. will be closed on race morning between Lavaca Street and San Jacinto Blvd.. We suggest taking 5th St. to get across downtown and then taking Trinity St. north to the available parking garages. Please see the
Capitol Complex parking map
for more detailed information.
There is no shuttle service from any satellite parking locations. Cap Metro will be limiting its bus service to the Capitol vicinity because of road race related lane closures.
What is the ChronoTrack D-Tag and how does it work?
We are using a timing system which uses disposable tags instead of the timing chips that had to be returned at the end of a race in previous years. The device is called a D-Tag because of it's shape after it is properly attach to a shoe.
The D-Tag is available to runners in the timed 10K and 5K. The D-Tag will be taped to each race bib and directions on how to attach the tag to your shoe laces are inscribed on the timing device.
This is a disposable tag and does not have to be returned at the end of the race. For more information about this chip and user instructions, visit www.wetimeraces.com/RacingSystems/DTags.htm
Is there a clothing drop area at the start line?
A clothing drop-off area will be available on race day beginning at 6 a.m. using tags provided at the drop-off table. The drop-off area is located near packet pickup/on site registration.
Clothing must be retrieved before 11:30 a.m. on race day.
What are the start times for each event?
Wheelchair races will start at 7:55 a.m.
The 10K & 5K run/walk will start at 8 a.m.
The Awards Ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m.
The Family Mile will start at 10 a.m.
The FitKids FunZone will be open from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Can I participate with my children in a stroller?
Strollers are allowed in the Texas Round-Up 10K, 5K and Family Mile. For space and logistical reasons we kindly request that families participating with strollers start towards the back of the pack.
Can I participate with my dog during the race?
For the safety and comfort of all Texas Round-Up participants, we ask that everyone leave their pets at home during the race.
Are there water stops along the course?
We anticipate the water stops to be located at miles 1.5 and 2.5 along the 5K course and at miles 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 5 along the 10K course. These locations are subject to change as the event draws near. Stay tuned.
